Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine admitted that today, as well as 10 years ago, the fight for Ukraine was going on. In the interview for Hlavred newspaper on Monday, V. Lytvyn declared that the opposition representatives had the direct order to block the tribune and this order was given not in the building of the Parliament.
"Last Wednesday, the opposition representatives blocked the tribune despite the fact that on 8 September a decision was adopted to continue the work of the Verkhovna Rada till all the issues are scrutinized. No comment. It is obvious that the parliamentarians were given the direct order to block, this order being given by the BYuT faction leaders."
V. Lytvyn admits that "there might have been an order to block the activity of the state institutions." "Revolution continues. Unfortunately, they have not solved all the problems after the elections," he stated.
V. Lytvyn reminded of the events that took place ten years ago, when there were "urgent issues on democracy, freedom of speech, disappearance of the journalists and ‘chain armour´ scandals and actions." "If one analyzes the tendencies and generalizes the facts, it will be obvious that the same scenario is observed today", he explained. The Head of the Parliament supposes that it was "a provocation, similarly as the present attempts." "No sooner does Ukraine start recovering after illness, than the problems and scandals spring up. Furthermore, it will not be an exaggeration to say the the same fight for Ukraine as ten years ago is going on today", V. Lytvyn explained.
"These people have only one admiration and passion an overwhelming passion for authority. As they are not in power, the problems in the society start", the Head of the Parliament declared. "We need a strong opposition to restrict useless and hasty decisions of the coalition. However, no war resembling a war against the nation should break out."
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasised that his appeal to the power institutions with the request to prevent the development of the negative scenario in Ukraine has become even more urgent.
